Browns rookie DT Mike Hall Jr. placed on Commissioner's Exempt list following domestic violence arrest

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr., who was arrested Aug. 13 and booked on a first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence charge, was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list on Tuesday, the team announced.

Hall is now ineligible to play for the Browns and cannot practice or attend games until his exemption is lifted. He will not count against the team's 53-man roster.

Hall, 21, was arrested after he allegedly threatened his fiancée with a gun during a fight, according to police reports.

On the night of Aug. 12, police were called to a residence in Avon, Ohio, after a woman claimed Hall pushed her daughter and hit her with a baby bottle. The woman was not injured and Hall left the scene.

Hall played at Ohio State before he was selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He played in each of the Browns' three preseason games in August, recording two total tackles.
