More history was made by Mike Evans on Monday night.
Evans hauled in his 100th career touchdown reception during the opening drive of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 41-31 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.
On a 25-yard scoring grab from Baker Mayfield in the first quarter, Evans became just the 11th player in NFL history with 100 TD catches. He is now tied for ninth all time in career TD catches with Hall of Famers Tim Brown and Steve Largent.
Evans nearly hauled in TD catch No. 101 later in the second quarter, but the wideout came away from the incompletion injured. After exiting to the locker room, Evans was ruled out of the game with a hamstring injury.
Head coach Todd Bowles had no update on Evans' hamstring injury after the loss, but NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported that Evans would undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday morning and his timeline is TBD.
Evans had a two-touchdown showing in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons in which he actually record his 100th career touchdown and 99th TD catch, as he also owns a fumble recovery for a TD in his career. All of Evans' TDs have come with the Buccaneers, who signed him to an extension this offseason. Historically speaking, he's the seventh player to record 100 or more receiving touchdowns with one franchise, per NFL Research.
Since entering the league as the seventh-overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, Evans has posted 1,000 yards receiving each year. He set the record for most 1,000-yard campaigns to start a career with seven, but has run the standard to 10 and is now well on his way to 11.
Having led the NFL with 13 touchdown catches last season, Evans now has six in 2024 and 100 for his career.
