Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Monday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol release obtained by NFL Media.
Robinson, 30, was cited and "released to a responsible party," per the CHP West Valley Area office.
"We're gathering all the appropriate information," McVay told reporters on Tuesday morning. "I'll let the legal process kind of take place. I do want to acknowledge that we were made aware of it. What you've seen out there is accurate. We'll proceed as we gather more information accordingly."
CHP officers observed a white Dodge sedan traveling upwards of 100 mph on US-101 northbound at 5:13 a.m. Monday morning. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and the driver identified himself as Demarcus Dontavian Robinson, the CHP release said. Per the release, officers observed signs of alcohol impairment.
Robinson had a touchdown in the Rams' 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
A 2016 NFL Draft fourth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs, Robinson is in his ninth NFL season and his second with the Rams. He previously played six years for the Chiefs and one for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.
During the 2024 season, Robinson has started all 11 games for the Rams, recording 26 receptions for 384 yards and six touchdowns, which leads the team.
"We're going to see," McVay said when asked if he expects Robinson to play Sunday against the Saints. "I want to be able to gather all the appropriate information before I commit to something one way or the other, but I do know that we've made the league aware. There's a process that they go about, and then I'll have more information."
